MEET CHARISSE BURNETT, SENIOR ADVISOR IN T&D DATA INFORMATION AND GOVERNANCE
As a senior advisor, her main job is to find better ways to protect and centralize the company’s data and records management. She also develops and executes initiatives to address information governance objectives including reviews related to records of critical company operations and others that affect safety, reliability of critical operations, regulatory compliance, finances, and company reputation.
Charisse has previously served on the board of directors for Women’s Roundtable Business Resource Group (BRG) in various capacities for the past four years and is proudly serving as this year’s president. She has also been a part of other BRG’s within the company, as well as several grassroots culture and safety forums across the enterprise.
Women’s Roundtable aims to empower and promote the personal and professional development of women and their supporters within SCE. Its mission is to foster a culture of diversity and inclusiveness so that it supports employees while also engaging business and community partners. “Networking with other women who are at similar paths in their career is what attracted me to join Women’s Roundtable. I value the strong peer support that I receive from members,” said Charisse.
Charisse is passionate about giving back to her community and working towards helping women advance their careers. “We cannot break the glass ceiling alone—we must empower the next generation with us—and provide the right tools and resources to help them succeed in their careers.” Working for SCE has fueled and supported her passion where she’s able to find ways to pay it forward and give back to the community and employees she serves. “I’m able to bring the best version of myself through the work that I do and the connections I’ve made.”
Charisse believes in the spirit of Ubuntu, an ancient African philosophy that we are all connected and that we grow and progress through the growth of others. “I know I am growing every day and making an impact and that my work is valued. I know this because the people around me are thriving, breaking barriers and growing.”
