TIME TO SHINE.
WHAT IS ONDEMAND VIDEO INTERVIEWING?
An OnDemand video interview is a one-way recorded interview, where you will be asked a series of questions in video format. During the OnDemand interview, you will have about 30 seconds to prepare your responses before answering each question. Remember, your responses will be recorded!
After you complete your OnDemand video interview, our team will review and evaluate the recorded interview for next steps.
PREPARING FOR YOUR ONDEMAND VIDEO INTERVIEW
Check Your Connection
Test your internet connection, audio, and video. You will need to use a device with a camera and it’s helpful to use headphones with a built-in microphone to improve audio quality. The process is mobile friendly, with apps available for iOS and Android. If you use a desktop or laptop computer, Google Chrome is the preferred browser.
Practice and Prepare
Know the role you are interviewing for and be ready to share specific examples about your work experience, accomplishments, and skills. Practice responding to sample questions in front of a mirror, using a video recorder or phone, or with a family member or friend.
Choose a Comfortable and Safe Environment
Please be safe! Don’t drive while interviewing. Choose a location with a simple background and it’s a good idea to put a lamp behind your camera so your face is well lit.
ONDEMAND INTERVIEW TIPS
- Be brief, and specific. Use the STAR method: describe the Situation and Task, the Actions you took, and the Result or outcome. Provide specific examples and speak clearly and concisely, because your responses are timed.
- Read and understand the question fully. We realize that you may be nervous, and it’s okay! Focus on providing complete answers so we can get to know you better. Remember you’ll have “prep” time before each question.
- Engage your interviewers. Look at your device’s camera so we will feel connected to you when watching your recorded interview.
- Remove distractions or interruptions. Find a time and place where you can give your complete attention and best effort. Minimize loud noises.
- Dress appropriately. Business casual dress is appropriate, as if you were going to an in-person interview.
- Relax, be yourself, and smile! We want to see your personality shine, so be your best self, have fun, and good luck!
